I met David through a mutual friend in our first week of high school.
We generally did things a little differently to the other kids. While they played in the park and smashed PlayStation controllers – we spent our time thinking up pranks, creating videos and inherently building life skills.
Having completed my college course, I turned to Facebook to earn money. David was the first to respond and got me a job at digital marketing agency, Greenlight.
We both learned the ropes of online marketing, whilst building websites out-of-hours and harvesting vital knowledge in all areas of digital.
It wasn’t part of our life plans to help clients realise their business dreams.
Realising there was a gap in the gambling niche, David grabbed at the opportunity, leaving and launching multiple ventures.
I followed shortly after and his idea became my playground, expanding and developing his concept. In October 2010 Right Casino Media was formed.
The concept was to build affiliate websites, rank them in Google and reap the rewards ‒ which we did well. We borrowed from sectors including insurance, retail and travel, and launched rightcasino.com.
It was the largest and most intelligent product in the gambling affiliate industry at the time.
Feeling accomplished within Right Casino Media, I sold my stake to David and decided to pursue my dream of travelling the world, ticking off important bucket list items.
David continued striving for further success and launched multiple other businesses across finance, insurance and the legal space.
David drove Right Casino Media to new heights, exiting through a $9m acquisition by Catena Media when he was just 25 years old.
Catena Media listed on the stock market just 6 months later, and David served as their UK General Manager for the next few years as part of his contract.
In this time his team grew substantially to over 200 people and a lot of new experience was processed.
We rejoined paths as new people over a few years down the line. We both still shared the passion for digital start-ups and had the urge to create.
We decided to invest in companies, partnering with other hungry individuals and teams like us.
After much discussion, debate and handshaking, Ki was formed.
We began to invest slowly but surely in companies like Investoo, Seven Star Digital, MoneyTransfers & more.
These ventures were all expanding rapidly and we were very operational across them wherever needed. As they expanded, so did Kinetic.
We celebrated our first big exit within Kinetic, Seven Star Digital sold in a multi-million $ deal with Thimba Media.
We grew in confidence, ability and reach.
Still 100% founder funded, we invested in 12 companies across seven different industries.
Our portfolio companies grew to employ over 250 people and manage more than 100 active websites.
Ki has gone from strength to strength. We have a world-class team and infrastructure in place which is essential to achieving our goals.
