Insuranceopedia is a leading online insurance marketplace that empowers consumers across the U.S. to make informed decisions about their insurance needs. Our platform offers a wealth of resources and tools to simplify the insurance buying process.
About The Role
As a Digital PR Specialist at Insuranceopedia, you will report directly to the CEO and be responsible for creating and executing Digital PR campaigns that generate media coverage and high-quality backlinks.
Your role will focus on crafting compelling, data-driven stories and creating expert commentary in the insurance niche. You will develop outreach strategies that secure placements in major publications, which drives SEO performance & brand visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Campaign Creation & Strategy: Develop and execute creative Digital PR campaigns that present Insuranceopedia as authorities in the insurance industry. This includes crafting data-driven stories, studies, expert commentary & surveys that appeal to journalists and major media outlets.
- Media Outreach: Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers in the insurance and finance sectors. Proactively pitch stories and secure media placements in top-tier publications.
- Content Development: Collaborate with internal freelancers to produce high-quality, data-driven content that supports our Digital PR campaigns. Ensure content aligns with SEO goals and is optimised for search engines.
- Trend Monitoring: Stay informed about trending topics and breaking news in the insurance industry. Quickly develop and distribute expert commentary and insights that position Insuranceopedia as a go-to resource for journalists.
- SEO & Link Building: Work closely with the SEO Specialist to ensure that Digital PR efforts support link-building strategies and overall SEO goals. Monitor the impact of media placements on organic search rankings and traffic.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyse the success of campaigns using relevant metrics, such as media mentions, backlinks, and referral traffic. Provide regular reports and insights to the CEO, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek out new opportunities and strategies to enhance our Digital PR efforts. Stay updated on industry trends, media landscapes, and best practices in digital PR and content marketing.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in digital PR, content marketing, or a related field, with a proven track record of securing media placements and building successful campaigns.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is preferred.
- SEO Knowledge: Strong understanding of SEO principles, particularly how digital PR contributes to link building and organic search performance.
- Media Relations: Established relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers in relevant industries is desired. Demonstrated ability to pitch and secure coverage in major publications.
- Content Creation: Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives from data and industry insights.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse campaign performance metrics and use data to refine and improve PR strategies.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, ensuring that all communications are accurate, polished, and aligned with brand messaging.
- Creativity & Initiative: A creative thinker who can develop innovative PR strategies and proactively seek out new opportunities for media exposure.
